MADE Tournament Rules
usssa rules
MADE Baseball uses the USSSA baseball rule set for tournaments, which is based on the OBR rule set. There may be modifications to certain rules, which can be found in the white sheet rules section below, and modifications will be communicated prior to the event's start date.
MADE Tournament costs & value
At MADE Baseball, we believe in transparent pricing and providing the best value for your team. Here’s how our tournament costs work and why teams consistently choose MADE events:
To keep costs fair and lower for all teams, umpires are paid directly at the plate conference. This means teams only pay for the games they actually play.
Example 1: A team plays two pool-play games and is eliminated in their first Sunday game — their total tournament expense would only be $575, far lower than most other tournaments.
Example 2: A team advancing to the championship game (up to 5 games) could expect a total cost of $725, still lower than nearly every other tournament option.
This system ensures full transparency, so teams know exactly where their fees are going.
Your registration fee goes toward creating a professional tournament experience, including:
Field rentals and maintenance
Hiring field crews for smooth operations
Tournament awards and custom player recognition coins
Event administration and logistics
High Quality USSSA Stamped Diamond Dol-1 Baseballs
All tournaments feature two umpires per game, including pool play whenever possible, ensuring consistency and fair competition.
1st Place: Custom USSSA Champions Rings + Tournament Banner (for all two-day events)
2nd Place: USSSA Medal or Runner-Up Ring
At MADE Baseball, we’re committed to high-quality tournaments at a lower overall cost, giving your team the competitive experience you expect while keeping expenses reasonable.
MADE Tournament White Sheet Rules
The MADE Baseball Tournament is designed for competitive teams looking for a fair, safe, and well-organized playing experience. Below are the key rules and procedures for all tournament games. Please review them carefully to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event for players, coaches, and spectators.
Tournaments follow a pool-play format, followed by single-elimination rounds.
Games are scheduled in advance, but times may shift slightly to accommodate field availability or weather delays.
Teams must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time for warm-ups and check-in.
Teams must have a minimum number of players present to start a game (e.g., 9 for 9U+).
Guest players may be used according to USSSA rules, but no more than 3 per team.
All players must be properly rostered in the USSSA system with a valid Player ID.
MADE Baseball partners with professional umpire associations to provide certified umpires.
Teams are responsible for paying umpires at the plate prior to each game.
Umpires have full authority to enforce rules, manage conduct, and issue ejections if necessary.
7U–12U: 6 innings, no new inning after 1:45, drop dead 2:00
13U–18U: 7 innings, no new inning after 1:45, drop dead 2:00
Time limits ensure smooth scheduling across fields and allow umpires to cover multiple games efficiently.
- Scores must be reported to the tournament coordinator or via the USSSA app.
iScore may be used to track individual stats; stats automatically sync with the USSSA system. Field umpires will have game cards to track score & outs per pitcher. The official game card must be signed by each coach at the conclusion of the game.
Standings are updated after each day of play; pool-play seeding determines single-elimination matchups. Whenever feasible, MADE Baseball will update game scores at the conclusion of each game after the game card is received.
- Managers are responsible for the behavior of players, coaches, and spectators.
Inappropriate conduct may result in warnings, dugout restrictions, or ejections, per umpire discretion.
Ejections are reported to USSSA, which may impose a minimum one-game suspension or longer depending on severity.
- If games are postponed or canceled due to weather, MADE Baseball will attempt to reschedule games when possible.
If a tournament cannot be completed, teams will receive a credit toward any future MADE Baseball tournament valid for 365 days.
Tournament games follow USSSA rules unless otherwise stated by MADE Baseball in pre-tournament communications.
Specific modifications (e.g., AA vs. AAA divisions, bat restrictions, or field sizes) will be noted for each division.
