USSSA FAQ & Team Approval

Team Approval

This service takes care of setting up and approving your team on the USSSA website. We handle the entire process — from entering your info to submitting for official approval — so you don’t have to worry about errors or delays. The only portion you'll be required to do is submitting your private information for the required background check ($14 additional cost).

Teams must be approved through USSSA before they can enter any USSSA-sanctioned tournament or league. Approval ensures your team’s roster, age division, and classification are verified in the system.

USSSA charges $85 annually to have a team in the USSSA system. This is done per season, which runs from the 2nd Tuesday in August to the following 2nd Tuesday in August. MADE Baseball charges $40 for this service, which is what USSSA charges MADE Baseball as a director. This is not a profit source for MADE Baseball, only a service to assist teams & make the process smoother.

You’ll just need your team name, age group, class, coach contact info, and USSSA login (if you already have one). If not, we’ll create everything for you.

No — we can handle that for you. If you already have one, we’ll connect it to your existing profile; if not, we’ll create a new account under your manager's name.

This is an independent service offered by MADE Baseball as a USSSA director to help coaches streamline the process. All teams are officially approved through the USSSA system and fully eligible for USSSA tournaments once approved.

No problem! We can pick up where you left off and complete the approval process for you.

You’ll receive a confirmation email with your USSSA team number and login access. From there, you can enter tournaments and manage your roster anytime.

Yes MADE Baseball will enter your roster in at no additional charge, again as a service to simplify the process for team managers. Please contact MADE Baseball to request a spreadsheet that can be filled out with player information.

FAQ

USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) is one of the largest youth sports organizations in the country. It provides structured, competitive baseball opportunities with consistent rules, rankings, and tournament standards nationwide.

USSSA uses classifications to group teams by skill level:

  • Major: Top-level, highly competitive teams.

  • AAA: Strong travel teams just below Major.

  • AA: Developmental travel teams or new programs.

  • A: Beginner or local-level teams.

Classifications help ensure fair competition so teams face others at a similar level.

When your team is approved, USSSA assigns an initial classification based on roster, history, and coach input. As you play tournaments, your performance and results may cause a reclassification (up or down) by the state director.

  • Consistent rules and standards across all events
  • Earn points and power rankings toward state and national standings
  • Access to state, regional, and World Series tournaments
  • Online roster and stats management
  • A huge network of quality tournaments with verified competition

Teams earn USSSA points based on performance in sanctioned events. Points help determine state and national rankings, eligibility for championship events, and even seeding in major tournaments.

Yes. Many teams compete in multiple organizations (like Ripken, Perfect Game, or Little League) — you just need to be registered and approved through USSSA to enter their events.

Yes. Each player must be listed on your official USSSA roster with their correct birthdate and guardian contact info. Once added, they can be easily moved between seasons or teams if needed.

USSSA baseball uses a May 1st cutoff date.

That means a player’s age on April 30th determines their eligible age division for the entire season.

You’ll find:

  • 1-day and 2-day local events

  • State championships

  • Super NITs (National Invitational Tournaments)

  • World Series and Global World Series events

Each offers different levels of competition, awards, and point opportunities.
